Possibility to remove categories from statistics and reports
Hi, I make a lot of payments for work for which I am reimbursed. I also pay for common things (e.g. the shopping) and am reimbursed by my housemates. Unfortunately the money I didn't pay (net) shows up as an expense and skews my statistics, which prevents me from having full and accurate knowledge around forecasts etc. I created my own category 'ignore' and put those payments there but it's not a full fix. I'd really love to be able to exlude this custom category from stats or be able to log things as paid for by someone else or something.
Thanks!
Hello,
Thank you Kamil for sharing this detailed guide on how this is possible.
Please see below for the solution:
Scenario 1:
" I make a lot of payments for work for which I am reimbursed."
Solution:
- create somewhere sub-(sub)-category "to be reimbursed",
- create somewhere under category "Income" sub-(sub)-category "reimbursed",
- create a new filter with selected all categories, sub-categories and sub-sub-categories EXCEPT those two mentioned above,
- save this filter,
- on home page in app add new widget, select saved filter and save widget.
Done. Now you can track all your expenses excluding reimbursements.
Scenario 2:
"I also pay for common things (e.g. the shopping) and am reimbursed by my housemates".
Solution:
- split your payment (for example, if you payed a bill in restaurant for you and your 3 colleagues, split entry in Wallet to 4 entries.
- create 3 debts in app (one for each colleage),
- add to each debt 1 entry (payment).
- That way you will be able to track who should give you money back and how much.
- If you would like to exclude debts from statistics:
- create a new filter (at the very end of options there is a drop-down list which allows us to select if debts should be included, excluded or should only debts be shown in statistics).
- save filter and use it widgets.
Bear in mind you would like to have more than 1 filter - one to exclude only reimbursements, one to exclude debts, one to exclude both reimbursements and debts.
Alternatively, if you don't want to use debts functionality, use or rename existing categories or create new sub-sub-categories and exclude them in the same way as reimbursements.
" I'd really love to be able to exlude this custom category from stats"
I hope I showed this is possible to achieve (at least in Android).

Would be very useful as well for deffered debit card. My main account has one "deferred debit card" transaction every month that doesn't show on my debit card account.
I would like to ignore this category from statistics by default, instead of making a filter that includes every categories except this one. -

Totally support this idea of being able to exclude or hide certain transactions from the report.
@Kamil, could you please show how to create a filter to "exclude" transactions. When I create a filter to exclude certain categories or labels, the filter only INCLUDES those transactions. However, I'm looking for a way to EXCLUDE certain transactions. I have tried several times using filters, but failed to do so.
Maybe an option to just "hide" a transaction by swiping on it?
There were several posts requesting this feature, but they were all deleted!

Create a filter, save it, use it.
